³ For the days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their ancestors, and they shall take possession of it.^(A)

²⁶ They shall live in safety in it and shall build houses and plant vineyards. They shall live in safety when I execute judgments upon all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God.^(A)

²⁸ And just as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring evil, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the Lord.^(A)

²⁵ They shall live in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your ancestors lived; they and their children and their children’s children shall live there forever, and my servant David shall be their prince forever.^{(A) 26} I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them, and I will bless^[a] them and multiply them and will set my sanctuary among them forevermore.^{(B) 27} My dwelling place shall be over them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.^{(C) 28} Then the nations shall know that I the Lord sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary is among them forevermore.”^(D)

3 ^[a]For then, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,^{(A) 2} I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat, and I will enter into judgment with them there, on account of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations.
