The sword will cut you off;
It will eat you up like a (A)locust.

Make yourself many—like the locust!
Make yourself many—like the swarming locusts!
16 You have multiplied your (B)merchants more than the stars of heaven.
The locust plunders and flies away.
17 (C)Your commanders are like swarming locusts,
And your generals like great grasshoppers,
Which camp in the hedges on a cold day;

13 And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?”

And I said, “I see (A)a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.”

14 Then the Lord said to me:

“Out of the (B)north calamity shall break forth
On all the inhabitants of the land.
15 For behold, I am (C)calling
All the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the Lord;
“They shall come and (D)each one set his throne
At the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem,
Against all its walls all around,
And against all the cities of Judah.
16 I will utter My judgments
Against them concerning all their wickedness,
Because (E)they have forsaken Me,
Burned (F)incense to other gods,
And worshiped the works of their own (G)hands.

When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. 14 And (C)the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested on all the territory of Egypt. They were very severe; (D)previously there had been no such locusts as they, nor shall there be such after them. 15 For they (E)covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they (F)ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. So there remained nothing green on the trees or on the plants of the field throughout all the land of Egypt.

16 Then Pharaoh called (G)for Moses and Aaron in haste, and said, (H)“I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you.
