¹² They have harps and lyres at their banquets,
    pipes^(A) and timbrels^(B) and wine,
but they have no regard^(C) for the deeds of the Lord,
    no respect for the work of his hands.^(D)

²³ Away with the noise of your songs!
    I will not listen to the music of your harps.^(A)

²² The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters,
    will never be heard in you again.^(A)
No worker of any trade
    will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone
    will never be heard in you again.^(B)

¹¹ They send forth their children as a flock;^(A)
    their little ones dance about.
¹² They sing to the music of timbrel and lyre;^(B)
    they make merry to the sound of the pipe.^(C)
