³ The songs of the temple^[a] shall become wailings on that day,”
            says the Lord God;
“the dead bodies shall be many,
    cast out in every place. Be silent!”^(A)

⁶ I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities
    and lack of bread in all your places;
yet you did not return to me,
            says the Lord.^(A)

¹⁵ Moab is destroyed, and his towns have gone up,
    and the choicest of his young men have gone down to slaughter,
    says the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.^(A)

²¹ Therefore give their children over to famine;
    hurl them out to the power of the sword;
let their wives become childless and widowed.
    May their men meet death by pestilence,
    their youths be slain by the sword in battle.^(A)
