3 Écoutez cette parole que l'Éternel prononce contre vous, enfants d'Israël, Contre toute la famille que j'ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte!
2 Je vous ai choisis, vous seuls parmi toutes les familles de la terre; C'est pourquoi je vous châtierai pour toutes vos iniquités.
3 Deux hommes marchent-ils ensemble, Sans en être convenus?
4 Le lion rugit-il dans la forêt, Sans avoir une proie? Le lionceau pousse-t-il des cris du fond de sa tanière, Sans avoir fait une capture?
5 L'oiseau tombe-t-il dans le filet qui est à terre, Sans qu'il y ait un piège? Le filet s'élève-t-il de terre, Sans qu'il y ait rien de pris?
6 Sonne-t-on de la trompette dans une ville, Sans que le peuple soit dans l'épouvante? Arrive-t-il un malheur dans une ville, Sans que l'Éternel en soit l'auteur?
7 Car le Seigneur, l'Éternel, ne fait rien Sans avoir révélé son secret à ses serviteurs les prophètes.
8 Le lion rugit: qui ne serait effrayé? Le Seigneur, l'Éternel, parle: qui ne prophétiserait?
9 Faites retentir votre voix dans les palais d'Asdod Et dans les palais du pays d'Égypte, Et dites: Rassemblez-vous sur les montagnes de Samarie, Et voyez quelle immense confusion au milieu d'elle, Quelles violences dans son sein!
10 Ils ne savent pas agir avec droiture, dit l'Éternel, Ils entassent dans leurs palais les produits de la violence et de la rapine.
11 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: L'ennemi investira le pays, Il détruira ta force, Et tes palais seront pillés.
12 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Comme le berger arrache de la gueule du lion Deux jambes ou un bout d'oreille, Ainsi se sauveront les enfants d'Israël qui sont assis dans Samarie A l'angle d'un lit et sur des tapis de damas.
13 Écoutez, et déclarez ceci à la maison de Jacob! Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, le Dieu des armées.
14 Le jour où je punirai Israël pour ses transgressions, Je frapperai sur les autels de Béthel; Les cornes de l'autel seront brisées, Et tomberont à terre.
15 Je renverserai les maisons d'hiver et les maisons d'été; Les palais d'ivoire périront, Les maisons des grands disparaîtront, dit l'Éternel.

3 Ecoutez bien cette parole que l’Eternel prononce sur vous, Israélites, sur toute la famille que j’ai fait sortir d’Egypte :
2 Je vous ai choisis, et vous seuls,
de toutes les familles de la terre,
aussi vous châtierai-je
pour tous vos crimes.
3 Deux hommes marchent-ils ensemble
sans s’être mis d’accord ?
4 Le lion rugit-il ╵au fond de la forêt
sans avoir une proie ?
Le jeune lion gronde-t-il ╵au fond de sa tanière
s’il n’a rien capturé ?
5 L’oiseau se jette-t-il ╵dans le filet qui est à terre
s’il n’y a pas d’appât ?
Le piège se referme-t-il
sans avoir fait de prise ?
6 Et sonne-t-on du cor ╵aux remparts de la ville
sans que les habitants ╵se mettent à trembler ?
Un malheur viendra-t-il ╵frapper une cité
à moins que l’Eternel ╵en soit l’auteur ?
7 Ainsi, le Seigneur, l’Eternel, ╵n’accomplit rien
sans avoir d’abord révélé ses plans
à ses serviteurs, les prophètes.
8 Le lion a rugi : ╵qui n’aurait pas de crainte ?
Oui, le Seigneur, ╵l’Eternel, a parlé.
Qui oserait ne pas prophétiser ?
Le châtiment de la corruption
9 Faites retentir cet appel ╵dans les palais d’Ashdod
et dans les palais de l’Egypte :
Rassemblez-vous sur les montagnes ╵de Samarie,
voyez quels grands désordres
et combien d’oppressions ╵règnent au milieu d’elle.
10 Ces gens ne savent pas ╵agir avec droiture,
l’Eternel le déclare.
Ils entassent dans leurs palais ╵ce qu’ils ont obtenu ╵par la violence et le pillage.
11 C’est pourquoi, le Seigneur, ╵l’Eternel, dit ceci :
Un ennemi viendra ╵tout autour du pays,
il abattra ta force
et tes palais seront pillés.
12 L’Eternel dit ceci :
Comme un berger arrache ╵de la gueule du lion
deux jarrets ou un bout d’oreille ╵du mouton qu’il a pris[a],
de même, des Israélites
qui demeurent à Samarie ╵seront arrachés à l’ennemi
– il en restera le coin d’un divan ╵ou le morceau d’un pied de lit[b].
13 Ecoutez bien ceci ╵et transmettez ensuite ╵cet avertissement ╵aux enfants de Jacob
– c’est là ce que déclare le Seigneur, ╵l’Eternel, le Dieu des armées célestes.
14 Car le jour où j’interviendrai ╵pour punir Israël ╵de ses nombreux péchés,
j’interviendrai ╵contre les autels de Béthel[c],
leurs cornes seront abattues
et elles tomberont à terre.
15 Je ferai s’écrouler
ses maisons pour l’hiver, ╵ses maisons pour l’été,
et ses maisons ornées d’ivoire ╵seront anéanties,
ses maisons imposantes ╵disparaîtront,
l’Eternel le déclare.

3 Почуйте слово це, що Господь каже проти вас, о народе ізраїльський, проти всього роду, що Він вивів з землі Єгипетської: 2 «Серед усіх народів світу Я обрав саме вас, але ви відвернулися від Мене, тож тепер Я покараю вас за всі провини ваші».
Покарання Ізраїлю
3 Двоє чоловіків не можуть йти поруч,
якщо не домовлялися мандрувати разом.
4 Лев не рикає у лісі,
якщо він здобичі не має.
Левеня не подає голос із лігва свого,
якщо воно нічого не зловило.
5 Птах не потрапить в сильце на землі,
якщо для нього там нема принади.
Сильце підскочить із землі тільки тоді,
коли щось потрапило до нього.
6 Тож коли народ чує звуки сурми[a] в місті,
люди тремтять від жаху,
та коли лихо прийшло у місто,
то це Господь спричинив його.
7 Справді, Господь Бог мій нічого не робить,
не відкривши задумів Своїх
слугам Своїм—пророкам.
8 Коли рикає Лев, люди лякаються,
коли Господь Бог мій говорить,
пророки пророкуватимуть про те.
9 Примусьте почути це твердині Ашдода[b]
і твердині землі Єгипетської.
Скажіть: «Разом зберіться в горах Самарії
і побачите страшне безладдя в ній,
як люди знущаються з людей».
10 Господь говорить: «Вони не знають честі,
ті, хто під час війни насильством й здирництвом
зібрав у своїх палацах скарби».
11 Тож ось що Господь Бог говорить:
«Оточить землю ворог і зламає оборону вашу,
й оплоти ваші пограбує».
12 Ось що Господь говорить:
«Коли лев нападає на вівцю,
то пастух не зможе врятувати її,
лиш дві ноги чи клаптик вуха
вихопить із пащі лева.
Так і народ Ізраїлю,
який живе в Самарії, не спасеться,
„врятується”, либонь, лише куточок ліжка,
або трісочка з підніжка».
13 Слухайте і свідчіть проти дому Якова. Це твердження мого Бога, Господа Всевишнього:
14 «Тоді, коли каратиму Я Ізраїль за злочини його,
зруйную Я й вівтарі Бетела.
Роги жертовника відбито буде,
й вони впадуть на землю.
15 Зруйную Я оселі зимові разом з оселями літніми,
і оселі зі слонової кістки розвалю,
і настане край великим спорудам».
Так говорить Господь.

Witnesses Summoned Against Israel
3 Hear this word, people of Israel, the word the Lord has spoken against you(A)—against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt:(B)
2 “You only have I chosen(C)
of all the families of the earth;
therefore I will punish(D) you
for all your sins.(E)”
3 Do two walk together
unless they have agreed to do so?
4 Does a lion roar(F) in the thicket
when it has no prey?(G)
Does it growl in its den
when it has caught nothing?
5 Does a bird swoop down to a trap on the ground
when no bait(H) is there?
Does a trap spring up from the ground
if it has not caught anything?
6 When a trumpet(I) sounds in a city,
do not the people tremble?
When disaster(J) comes to a city,
has not the Lord caused it?(K)
7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
without revealing his plan(L)
to his servants the prophets.(M)
8 The lion(N) has roared(O)—
who will not fear?
The Sovereign Lord has spoken—
who can but prophesy?(P)
9 Proclaim to the fortresses of Ashdod(Q)
and to the fortresses of Egypt:
“Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria;(R)
see the great unrest within her
and the oppression among her people.”
10 “They do not know how to do right,(S)” declares the Lord,
“who store up in their fortresses(T)
what they have plundered(U) and looted.”
11 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“An enemy will overrun your land,
pull down your strongholds
and plunder your fortresses.(V)”
12 This is what the Lord says:
“As a shepherd rescues from the lion’s(W) mouth
only two leg bones or a piece of an ear,
so will the Israelites living in Samaria be rescued,
with only the head of a bed
and a piece of fabric[a] from a couch.[b](X)”
13 “Hear this and testify(Y) against the descendants of Jacob,” declares the Lord, the Lord God Almighty.
14 “On the day I punish(Z) Israel for her sins,
I will destroy the altars of Bethel;(AA)
the horns(AB) of the altar will be cut off
and fall to the ground.
15 I will tear down the winter house(AC)
along with the summer house;(AD)
the houses adorned with ivory(AE) will be destroyed
and the mansions(AF) will be demolished,(AG)”
declares the Lord.(AH)

3 Hear this word that the Lord hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?
7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
10 For they know not to do right, saith the Lord, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
12 Thus saith the Lord; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
13 Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord God, the God of hosts,
14 That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the Lord.
