Judgment on Israel's Neighbors

And he said:

(A)“The Lord roars from Zion
    and utters his voice from Jerusalem;
(B)the pastures of the shepherds mourn,
    and the (C)top of (D)Carmel withers.”

Thus says the Lord:

(E)“For three transgressions of (F)Damascus,
    and for four, (G)I will not revoke the punishment,[a]
because they have threshed (H)Gilead
    with threshing sledges of iron.
(I)So I will send a fire upon the house of (J)Hazael,
    and it shall devour the strongholds of (K)Ben-hadad.
I will (L)break the gate-bar of (M)Damascus,
    and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of (N)Aven,[b]
and him who holds the scepter from (O)Beth-eden;
    and the people of (P)Syria shall go into exile to (Q)Kir,”
says the Lord.

Thus says the Lord:

(R)“For three transgressions of (S)Gaza,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because (T)they carried into exile a whole people
    to deliver them up to Edom.
So I will send a fire upon the wall of (U)Gaza,
    and it shall devour her strongholds.
I will cut off the inhabitants from (V)Ashdod,
    and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will turn my hand against Ekron,
    and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”
says the Lord God.

Thus says the Lord:

(W)“For three transgressions of (X)Tyre,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because they delivered up a whole people to Edom,
    and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
10 So I will send a fire upon the wall of (Y)Tyre,
    and it shall devour her strongholds.”

11 Thus says the Lord:

(Z)“For three transgressions of (AA)Edom,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
(AB)because he pursued his brother with the sword
    (AC)and cast off all pity,
(AD)and his anger tore perpetually,
    (AE)and he kept his wrath forever.
12 So I will send a fire upon (AF)Teman,
    and it shall devour the strongholds of (AG)Bozrah.”

13 Thus says the Lord:

(AH)“For three transgressions of the (AI)Ammonites,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because (AJ)they have ripped open pregnant women in (AK)Gilead,
    that they might enlarge their border.
14 So I will kindle a fire in the wall of (AL)Rabbah,
    (AM)and it shall devour her strongholds,
with shouting on the day of battle,
    (AN)with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;
15 and (AO)their king shall go into exile,
    he and his princes[c] together,”
says the Lord.

Thus says the Lord:

(AP)“For three transgressions of (AQ)Moab,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,[d]
because (AR)he burned to lime
    the bones of the king of Edom.
So I will send a fire upon Moab,
    and it shall devour the strongholds of (AS)Kerioth,
and Moab shall die amid uproar,
    amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet;
(AT)I will cut off the ruler from its midst,
    and will kill (AU)all its princes[e] with him,”
says the Lord.
