1 Ang(A) aklat na ito ay naglalaman ng mga pahayag ni Amos, isang pastol na taga-Tekoa. Ang mga bagay na tungkol sa Israel ay ipinahayag sa kanya ng Diyos dalawang taon bago lumindol. Si Uzias noon ang hari ng Juda, at si Jeroboam namang anak ni Joas ang hari ng Israel.
2 Sinabi(B) ni Amos,
“Dumadagundong mula sa Bundok ng Zion ang tinig ni Yahweh,
mula sa Jerusalem ang kanyang tinig ay naririnig.
Natutuyo ang mga pastulan,
nalalanta pati ang mga damo sa Bundok Carmel.”
Paghatol sa mga Karatig-bansa ng Israel
Sa Siria
3 Ganito(C) ang sabi ni Yahweh:
“Paulit-ulit na nagkasala ang mga taga-Damasco,
kaya sila'y paparusahan ko.
Pinagmalupitan nila ang Gilead,
dinurog nila ito sa giikang bakal.
4 Susunugin ko ang palasyo ni Hazael,
at tutupukin ko ang mga tanggulan ni Ben-hadad.
5 Wawasakin ko ang pintuan ng Lunsod ng Damasco;
pupuksain ko ang mga taga libis ng Aven,
pati ang may hawak ng setro sa Beth-eden;
ang mga taga-Siria naman ay dadalhing-bihag sa Kir.”
Sa Filistia
6 Ganito(D) ang sabi ni Yahweh:
“Paulit-ulit na nagkasala ang mga taga-Gaza,
kaya sila'y paparusahan ko.
Binihag nila ang isang bansa
at ipinagbili sa mga taga-Edom.
7 Susunugin ko ang mga pader ng Gaza;
tutupukin ko ang mga tanggulan doon.
8 Aalisin ko ang mga pinuno ng Asdod,
at ang may hawak ng setro sa Ashkelon.
Hahanapin ko ang Ekron,
at lilipulin ko ang mga Filisteo roon.”
Sa Tiro
9 Ganito(E) ang sabi ni Yahweh:
“Paulit-ulit na nagkasala ang mga taga-Tiro,
kaya sila'y paparusahan ko.
Ipinagbili nila sa Edom ang libu-libo nilang bihag;
sinisira nila ang kasunduan ng pagkakapatiran.
10 Susunugin ko ang mga pader ng Tiro;
tutupukin ko ang mga palasyo roon.”
Sa Edom
11 Ganito(F) ang sabi ni Yahweh:
“Paulit-ulit na nagkasala ang mga taga-Edom,
kaya sila'y paparusahan ko.
Hinabol nila ng tagâ ang mga kapatid nilang Israelita
at hindi sila naawa kahit bahagya.
Hindi naglubag ang kanilang poot kailanman.
12 Susunugin ko ang Teman,
tutupukin ko naman ang mga tanggulan sa Bozra.”
Sa Ammon
13 Ganito(G) ang sabi ni Yahweh:
“Paulit-ulit na nagkasala ang mga taga-Ammon,
kaya sila'y paparusahan ko.
Sa labis nilang kasakiman sa lupain,
nilaslas nila ang tiyan ng mga buntis sa Gilead.
14 Susunugin ko ang mga pader sa Rabba;
tutupukin ko ang mga tanggulan doon.
Magsisigawan sila sa panahon ng labanan;
mag-aalimpuyo ang labanan tulad ng isang bagyo.
15 Mabibihag ang kanilang hari,
gayundin ang kanyang mga tauhan.”

1 Ang(A) mga salita ni Amos, na kasama ng mga pastol ng Tekoa, na nakita niya tungkol sa Israel nang mga araw ni Uzias na hari ng Juda, at nang mga araw ni Jeroboam na anak ni Joas na hari ng Israel, dalawang taon bago lumindol.
2 At(B) kanyang sinabi:
“Ang Panginoon ay umuungal mula sa Zion,
at ipinahahayag ang kanyang tinig mula sa Jerusalem;
at ang mga pastulan ng mga pastol ay nagluluksa,
at ang tuktok ng Carmel ay natutuyo.”
Hinatulan ng Diyos ang mga Kalapit-bayan ng Israel:
Ang Siria
3 Ganito(C) ang sabi ng Panginoon:
“Dahil sa tatlong pagsuway ng Damasco,
at dahil sa apat, hindi ko pawawalang-bisa ang parusa,
sapagkat kanilang giniik ang Gilead
ng panggiik na bakal.
4 Kaya't ako'y magsusugo ng apoy sa sambahayan ni Hazael,
at tutupukin niyon ang mga tanggulan ni Ben-hadad.
5 Aking wawasakin ang mga halang ng pintuan ng Damasco,
at aking ihihiwalay ang mga naninirahan mula sa Libis ng Aven,
at siyang humahawak ng setro mula sa Bet-eden;
at ang bayan ng Siria ay tutungo sa pagkabihag sa Kir,” sabi ng Panginoon.
Ang Filistia
6 Ganito(D) ang sabi ng Panginoon:
“Dahil sa tatlong pagsuway ng Gaza,
at dahil sa apat, hindi ko pawawalang-bisa ang parusa;
sapagkat kanilang dinalang-bihag ang buong bayan,
upang ibigay sila sa Edom.
7 Ngunit ako'y magsusugo ng apoy sa pader ng Gaza,
at tutupukin nito ang mga tanggulan niyon.
8 Aking ihihiwalay ang mga naninirahan mula sa Asdod,
at siyang humahawak ng setro mula sa Ascalon;
at aking ipipihit ang aking kamay laban sa Ekron,
at ang nalabi sa mga Filisteo ay malilipol,”
sabi ng Panginoong Diyos.
Ang Tiro
9 Ganito(E) ang sabi ng Panginoon:
“Dahil sa tatlong pagsuway ng Tiro,
at dahil sa apat, hindi ko pawawalang-bisa ang parusa,
sapagkat kanilang ibinigay ang buong bayan sa Edom,
at hindi inalala ang tipan ng pagkakapatiran.
10 Kaya't ako'y magsusugo ng apoy sa pader ng Tiro,
at tutupukin nito ang kanyang tanggulan.”
Ang Edom
11 Ganito(F) ang sabi ng Panginoon:
“Dahil sa tatlong pagsuway ng Edom,
at dahil sa apat, hindi ko pawawalang-bisa ang parusa,
sapagkat hinabol niya ng tabak ang kanyang kapatid,
at ipinagkait ang lahat ng habag,
at ang kanyang galit ay laging nangwawasak,
at taglay niya ang kanyang poot magpakailanman.
12 Ngunit magsusugo ako ng apoy sa Teman,
at tutupukin nito ang mga tanggulan ng Bosra.”
Ang Amon
13 Ganito(G) ang sabi ng Panginoon:
“Dahil sa tatlong pagsuway ng mga anak ni Amon,
at dahil sa apat, hindi ko pawawalang-bisa ang parusa,
sapagkat kanilang pinaluwa ang bituka ng mga babaing nagdadalang-tao sa Gilead,
upang kanilang mapalawak ang kanilang hangganan.
14 Kaya't ako'y magpapaningas ng apoy sa pader ng Rabba,
at tutupukin nito ang kanyang mga tanggulan,
na may sigawan sa araw ng pakikipaglaban,
na may bagyo sa araw ng ipu-ipo.
15 At ang kanilang hari ay tutungo sa pagkabihag,
siya at ang kanyang mga pinuno na magkakasama,” sabi ng Panginoon.

1 The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa(A)—the vision he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake,(B) when Uzziah(C) was king of Judah and Jeroboam(D) son of Jehoash[a] was king of Israel.(E)
2 He said:
“The Lord roars(F) from Zion
and thunders(G) from Jerusalem;(H)
the pastures of the shepherds dry up,
and the top of Carmel(I) withers.”(J)
Judgment on Israel’s Neighbors
3 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Damascus,(K)
even for four, I will not relent.(L)
Because she threshed Gilead
with sledges having iron teeth,
4 I will send fire(M) on the house of Hazael(N)
that will consume the fortresses(O) of Ben-Hadad.(P)
5 I will break down the gate(Q) of Damascus;
I will destroy the king who is in[b] the Valley of Aven[c]
and the one who holds the scepter in Beth Eden.(R)
The people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,(S)”
says the Lord.(T)
6 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Gaza,(U)
even for four, I will not relent.(V)
Because she took captive whole communities
and sold them to Edom,(W)
7 I will send fire on the walls of Gaza
that will consume her fortresses.
8 I will destroy the king[d] of Ashdod(X)
and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon.
I will turn my hand(Y) against Ekron,
till the last of the Philistines(Z) are dead,”(AA)
says the Sovereign Lord.(AB)
9 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Tyre,(AC)
even for four, I will not relent.(AD)
Because she sold whole communities of captives to Edom,
disregarding a treaty of brotherhood,(AE)
10 I will send fire on the walls of Tyre
that will consume her fortresses.(AF)”
11 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Edom,(AG)
even for four, I will not relent.
Because he pursued his brother with a sword(AH)
and slaughtered the women of the land,
because his anger raged continually
and his fury flamed unchecked,(AI)
12 I will send fire on Teman(AJ)
that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.(AK)”
13 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Ammon,(AL)
even for four, I will not relent.
Because he ripped open the pregnant women(AM) of Gilead
in order to extend his borders,
14 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah(AN)
that will consume(AO) her fortresses
amid war cries(AP) on the day of battle,
amid violent winds(AQ) on a stormy day.
15 Her king[e] will go into exile,
he and his officials together,(AR)”
says the Lord.(AS)

2 And he said: The Lord will roar from Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the beautiful places of the shepherds have mourned, and the top of Carmel is withered.
3 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four I will not convert it: because they have thrashed Galaad with iron wains.
4 And I will send a fire into the house of Azael, and it shall devour the houses of Benadad.
5 And I will break the bar of Damascus: and I will cut off the inhabitants from the plain of the idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of pleasure: and the people of Syria shall be carried away to Cyrene, saith the Lord.
6 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom.
7 And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses thereof.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Azotus, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ascalon: and I will turn my hand against Accaron, and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.
9 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not convert it: because they have shut up an entire captivity in Edom, and have not remembered the covenant of brethren.
10 And I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses thereof.
11 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath pursued his brother with the sword, and hath cast off all pity, and hath carried on his fury, and hath kept his wrath to the end.
12 I will send a fire into Theman: and it shall devour the houses of Bosra.
13 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath ripped up the women with child of Galaad to enlarge his border.
14 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabba: and it shall devour the houses thereof with shouting in the day of battle, and with a whirlwind in the day of trouble.
15 And Melchom shall go into captivity, both he, and his princes together, saith the Lord.

13 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.
