GOD’S WORD Translation
11 Amos says that Jeroboam will be killed with a sword and that Israel cannot avoid being taken from its land into exile.”
12 Then Amaziah said to Amos, “You seer,[a] run away to Judah! Eat there, and prophesy there! 13 But don’t ⌞ever⌟ prophesy again in Bethel, because this is the king’s holy place and the king’s palace.”

11 For this is what Amos is saying:
“‘Jeroboam will die by the sword,
and Israel will surely go into exile,(A)
away from their native land.’”(B)
12 Then Amaziah said to Amos, “Get out, you seer!(C) Go back to the land of Judah. Earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.(D) 13 Don’t prophesy anymore at Bethel,(E) because this is the king’s sanctuary and the temple(F) of the kingdom.(G)”
