1 Estas son las palabras de Amós, que era un pastor de Tecoa. Tuvo una visión acerca de Israel durante los reinados de Uzías(A) en Judá, y de Jeroboán(B) hijo de Joás en Israel. Esto sucedió dos años antes del terremoto. 2 Amós dijo:
Desde Sión, el Señor lanza un rugido;
desde Jerusalén, deja oír su voz.(C)
Los campos de los pastores se marchitan,
y la cumbre del Carmelo se queda seca.

1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 And he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Judgment on Israel's Neighbors
2 And he said:
(G)“The Lord roars from Zion
and utters his voice from Jerusalem;
(H)the pastures of the shepherds mourn,
and the (I)top of (J)Carmel withers.”
