Paul Addresses the Areopagus

²² So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious.

^21 (A)“Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” ²² (^(B)referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to ^(C)human precepts and teachings? ²³ These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in ^(D)promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are ^(E)of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.
