12 Niadtong panahona nagsugod si Haring Herodes sa paglutos sa pipila ka mga magtutuo. Gipapatay niya si Santiago nga igsoon ni Juan pinaagi sa espada. Sa pagkakita niya nga nalipay ang mga Judio tungod sa iyang gihimo, gipadakop usab niya si Pedro. Nahitabo kini sa panahon sa Pista sa Pan nga Walay Patubo. Gipapriso niya si Pedro ug gipaguwardyahan sa upat ka grupo sa mga sundalo nga tag-upat-upat kada grupo. Kining upat ka grupo nagpuli-puli ug guwardya. Sumala sa plano ni Herodes, iyang husayon ang kaso ni Pedro atubangan sa publiko pagkahuman sa Pista sa Paglabay sa Anghel.

Peter’s Miraculous Escape From Prison

12 It was about this time that King Herod(A) arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. He had James, the brother of John,(B) put to death with the sword.(C) When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews,(D) he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.(E) After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.(F)

James Killed and Peter Imprisoned

12 About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church.
