20 And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, (A)“He is the Son of God.” 21 And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who (B)made havoc (C)in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?” 22 But Saul (D)increased all the more in strength, and (E)confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving (F)that Jesus was the Christ.

21 Everyone who heard him was astonished and said, “This is the man who harassed those who were calling on Jesus’[a] name in Jerusalem, isn’t it? Didn’t he come here to bring them in chains to the high priests?” 22 But Saul grew more and more persuasive, and continued to confound the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this man was the Messiah.[b]
