⁸ Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, ^(A)he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.

¹¹ And since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me, and came into Damascus.

¹⁸ And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and ^(A)he regained his sight. Then ^(B)he rose and was baptized;

¹⁷ Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please ^(A)open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of ^(B)horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. ¹⁸ And when the Syrians came down against him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said, “Please strike this people with blindness.” ^(C)So he struck them with blindness in accordance with the prayer of Elisha. ¹⁹ And Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” And he led them to Samaria.

²⁰ As soon as they entered Samaria, Elisha said, “O Lord, ^(D)open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” So the Lord opened their eyes and they saw, and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

¹¹ And now, behold, ^(A)the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking ^(B)people to lead him by the hand.

¹¹ And they struck with ^(A)blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.

¹¹ Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
