⁴² This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.^(A)

³⁵ All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon^(A) saw him and turned to the Lord.^(B)

¹¹ for on account of him^(A) many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in him.^(B)

The Plot to Kill Jesus

⁴⁵ Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary,^(A) and had seen what Jesus did,^(B) believed in him.^(C)

¹⁷ When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus,^(A) they were all seized with fear,^(B) and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. ¹⁸ Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done.

²¹ The Lord’s hand was with them,^(A) and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.^(B)

⁴⁴ Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me.^(A)

⁴ When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory^(A) so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”
