⁴¹ He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he showed her to be alive.^(A)

Seven Chosen to Serve

6 Now during those days, when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution of food.^(A)

³¹ He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.

¹² Meanwhile they had taken the boy away alive and were not a little comforted.

⁷ And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

¹⁵ The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus^[a] gave him to his mother.

¹² As he approached the gate of the town, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother’s only son, and she was a widow, and with her was a large crowd from the town.

²³ Elijah took the child, brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; then Elijah said, “See, your son is alive.”
