²⁷ But Barnabas^(A) took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him,^(B) and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.^(C)

²² News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas^(A) to Antioch.

³⁰ This they did, sending their gift to the elders^(A) by Barnabas^(B) and Saul.^(C)

Barnabas and Saul Sent Off

²⁵ When Barnabas^(A) and Saul had finished their mission,^(B) they returned from^[a] Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark.^(C) 13 ¹ Now in the church at Antioch^(D) there were prophets^(E) and teachers:^(F) Barnabas,^(G) Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene,^(H) Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod^(I) the tetrarch) and Saul. ² While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,^(J) “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work^(K) to which I have called them.”^(L)

⁷ who was an attendant of the proconsul,^(A) Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.

⁶ Or is it only I and Barnabas^(A) who lack the right to not work for a living?

Paul Accepted by the Apostles

2 Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem,^(A) this time with Barnabas.^(B) I took Titus^(C) along also.

⁹ James,^(A) Cephas^[a](B) and John, those esteemed as pillars,^(C) gave me and Barnabas^(D) the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me.^(E) They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles,^(F) and they to the circumcised.

¹³ The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas^(A) was led astray.
