²² But Saul ^(A)increased all the more in strength, and ^(B)confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving ^(C)that Jesus was the Christ.

Saul Escapes from Damascus

^23 (D)When many days had passed, the Jews^[a] plotted to kill him,

⁴⁴ The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. ^45 (A)But ^(B)when the Jews^[a] saw the crowds, they were filled with ^(C)jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, ^(D)reviling him.

^2 (A)But the ^(B)unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against ^(C)the brothers.^[a]

^5 (A)But the Jews^{[a] (B)}were jealous, and taking ^(C)some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd.

⁶ And when they opposed and reviled him, ^(A)he shook out his garments and said to them, ^(B)“Your blood be on your own heads! ^(C)I am innocent. ^(D)From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
