¹⁷ So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul^[a] and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”^(A)

¹⁷ Then Peter and John^[a] laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.^(A)

⁴ All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.^(A)

¹² “A certain Ananias, who was a devout man according to the law and well spoken of by all the Jews living there,^{(A) 13} came to me, and standing beside me, he said, ‘Brother Saul, regain your sight!’ In that very hour I regained my sight and saw him. ¹⁴ Then he said, ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear his own voice,^(B)

⁶ They had these men stand before the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.^(A)

²² Do not ordain^[a] anyone hastily, and do not participate in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.^(A)

⁵² And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.^(A)

²² Now that you have purified your souls^[a] by your obedience to the truth^[b] so that you have genuine mutual affection, love one another deeply from the heart.^{[c](A) 23} You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.^[d](B)
