¹⁶ For ^(A)I will show him how much ^(B)he must suffer ^(C)for the sake of my name.”

³ that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that ^(A)we are destined for this.

¹¹ And coming to us, he ^(A)took Paul's belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, ^(B)“Thus says the Holy Spirit, ^(C)‘This is how the Jews^[a] at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and ^(D)deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: ^(A)‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, ^(B)they will also persecute you. ^(C)If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

^14 (A)If you are insulted ^(B)for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory^[a] and of God rests upon you.

Three times I ^(I)was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; ²⁶ on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, ^(J)danger from my own people, ^(K)danger from Gentiles, ^(L)danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; ^27 (M)in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, ^(N)in hunger and thirst, often without food,^[a] in cold and exposure.

⁴ but ^(A)as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: ^(B)by great endurance, ^(C)in afflictions, ^(D)hardships, calamities,
