Saul Persecutes the Church

(A)Now Saul approved of putting [a]Stephen to death.

And on that day a great persecution [b]began against (B)the church in Jerusalem, and they were all (C)scattered throughout the regions of Judea and (D)Samaria, except for the apostles. Some devout men buried Stephen, and mourned loudly for him. But (E)Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house; and he would (F)drag away men and women and put them in prison.

Saul Attempts to Destroy the Church

And Saul was agreeing with his murder. Now there happened on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. And devout men buried Stephen and made loud lamentation over him. But Saul was attempting to destroy the church. Entering house after house,[a] he dragged off both men and women and[b] delivered them[c] to prison.
