¹³ Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

Miracles Glorify Christ

¹¹ Now ^(A)God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,

⁶ And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. ⁷ For ^(A)unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

²⁰ For ^(A)the Father loves the Son, and ^(B)shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

¹⁹ You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! ²⁰ But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is ^[a]dead? ²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works ^(A)when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? ²² Do you see ^(B)that faith was working together with his works, and by ^(C)works faith was made ^[b]perfect? ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ^(D)“Abraham believed God, and it was ^[c]accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called ^(E)the friend of God. ²⁴ You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

²⁵ Likewise, ^(F)was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

⁴⁴ On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your ^(A)heart is not right in the sight of God.

¹⁰ Then they knew that it was he who ^(A)sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

³⁰ As He spoke these words, ^(A)many believed in Him.

The Truth Shall Make You Free

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you ^(B)abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

²¹ Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all marvel.
