Judgment and Hope

66 This is what the Lord says:

²¹ “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming^(A) when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.^(B)

³⁴ But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all:^(A) either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;^{(B) 35} or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.^(C)

¹⁹ Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne^(A) with all the multitudes^(B) of heaven standing around him on his right and on his left.

² “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another;^(A) every one will be thrown down.”

²² And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.^(A)
