Moses Flees to Midian^(A)

¹¹ Now it came to pass in those days, ^(B)when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. ¹² So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he ^(C)killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

²⁴ By faith ^(A)Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, ²⁵ choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the ^[a]passing pleasures of sin, ²⁶ esteeming ^(B)the ^[b]reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures ^[c]in Egypt; for he looked to the ^(C)reward.

The Lord Considers the Heart

^17 (A)For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, ^(B)until the words of God are fulfilled.

^17 (A)Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, ^(B)with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Light Bearers

¹² Therefore, my beloved, ^(A)as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, ^(B)work out your own salvation with ^(C)fear and trembling; ¹³ for ^(D)it is God who works in you both to will and to do ^(E)for His good pleasure.
