⁸ Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs^(A) among the people.

Philip in Samaria

⁴ Those who had been scattered^(A) preached the word wherever they went.^{(B) 5} Philip^(C) went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. ⁶ When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. ⁷ For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many,^(D) and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.^{(E) 8} So there was great joy in that city.

¹² But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God^(A) and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized,^(B) both men and women. ¹³ Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles^(C) he saw.

³⁸ how God anointed^(A) Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing^(B) all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.^(C)

³ So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly^(A) for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.^(B)

⁸ Paul entered the synagogue^(A) and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.^{(B) 9} But some of them^(C) became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way.^(D) So Paul left them. He took the disciples^(E) with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. ¹⁰ This went on for two years,^(F) so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia^(G) heard the word of the Lord.^(H)

¹¹ God did extraordinary miracles^(I) through Paul, ¹² so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured^(J) and the evil spirits left them.
