Instead, (A)brothers and sisters, select from among you seven men of good reputation, (B)full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task. But we will (C)devote ourselves to prayer and to the [a]ministry of the word.” The [b]announcement found approval with the whole [c]congregation; and they chose (D)Stephen, a man (E)full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and (F)Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and [d]Nicolas, a [e](G)proselyte from (H)Antioch. And they brought these men before the apostles; and after (I)praying, they (J)laid their hands on them.

(K)The word of God kept spreading; and (L)the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to (M)the faith.

And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great (N)wonders and [f]signs among the people.
