Seven Chosen to Serve

6 Now in those days, ^(A)when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the ^(B)Hellenists,^[a] because their widows were neglected ^(C)in the daily distribution.

^35 (A)and laid them at the apostles’ feet; ^(B)and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

⁴¹ Then those who ^[a]gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

⁹ Do not ^[a]grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be ^[b]condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!

³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁷ Then ^(A)the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many ^(B)of the priests were obedient to the faith.

⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And ^(A)the Lord added ^[a]to the church daily those who were being saved.

⁵ circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, ^(A)of the tribe of Benjamin, ^(B)a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, ^(C)a Pharisee;

²⁰ But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to ^(A)the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.

⁴¹ Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive.
