Legacy Standard Bible
27 And when they had brought them, they stood them [a]before (A)the Sanhedrin. And the high priest questioned them, 28 saying, “We (B)strictly commanded you not to continue teaching in this name, and [b]yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and (C)intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” 29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, “(D)We must obey God rather than men. 30 (E)The God of our fathers (F)raised up Jesus, [c]whom you (G)put to death by hanging Him on a tree. 31 (H)This One God exalted [d]to His right hand as [e]a (I)Leader and a (J)Savior, to grant (K)repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are (L)witnesses [f]of these things, and (M)so is the Holy Spirit, whom God gave to those who obey Him.”

Acts 5:27-32
Common English Bible
27 The apostles were brought before the council where the high priest confronted them: 28 “In no uncertain terms, we demanded that you not teach in this name. And look at you! You have filled Jerusalem with your teaching. And you are determined to hold us responsible for this man’s death.”
29 Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than humans! 30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God has exalted Jesus to his right side as leader and savior so that he could enable Israel to change its heart and life and to find forgiveness for sins. 32 We are witnesses of such things, as is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
