³⁵ Then he said to them, “Fellow Israelites,^[a] consider carefully what you propose to do to these men.

²⁶ When the centurion heard that, he went to the tribune and said to him, “What are you about to do? This man is a Roman.”

³⁶ Since these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rash.

¹⁹ While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for today I have suffered a great deal because of a dream about him.”^(A)
