³³ When they heard this, they were ^(A)furious^[a] and plotted to kill them.

^54 (A)When they heard these things they were ^[a]cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

³⁷ Now when they heard this, ^(A)they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

²⁸ So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were ^(A)filled with ^[a]wrath, ^29 (B)and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.

^2 (A)They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming ^(B)that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

^9 (A)“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

⁵⁰ that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation, ^51 (A)from the blood of Abel to ^(B)the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the temple. Yes, I say to you, it shall be required of this generation.

^52 (C)“Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.”

^53 [a]And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to assail Him vehemently, and to cross-examine Him about many things, ⁵⁴ lying in wait for Him, ^[b]and ^(D)seeking to catch Him in something He might say, ^[c]that they might accuse Him.

^34 (A)Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: ^(B)some of them you will kill and crucify, and ^(C)some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, ^35 (D)that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, ^(E)from the blood of righteous Abel to ^(F)the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

²⁵ It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If ^(A)they have called the master of the house ^[a]Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!
