²⁸ saying, ^(A)“Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, ^(B)and intend to bring this Man’s ^(C)blood on us!”

²⁵ And all the people answered and said, ^(A)“His blood be on us and on our children.”

^52 (A)Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of ^(B)the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,

^18 (A)So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, ^(B)“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. ^20 (C)For we cannot but speak the things which ^(D)we have seen and heard.” ²¹ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, ^(E)because of the people, since they all ^(F)glorified God for ^(G)what had been done.

¹⁰ let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, ^(A)that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, ^(B)whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. ¹¹ This is the ^(C)‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’

^15 (A)who killed both the Lord Jesus and ^(B)their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God ^(C)and are ^[a]contrary to all men, ^16 (D)forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always ^(E)to fill up the measure of their sins; ^(F)but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

⁴⁰ And they agreed with him, and when they had ^(A)called for the apostles ^(B)and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

¹⁴ But you denied ^(A)the Holy One ^(B)and the Just, and ^(C)asked for a murderer to be granted to you, ¹⁵ and killed the ^[a]Prince of life, ^(D)whom God raised from the dead, ^(E)of which we are witnesses.

²³ Him, ^(A)being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, ^(B)you ^[a]have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; ^24 (C)whom God raised up, having ^[b]loosed the ^[c]pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. ²⁵ For David says concerning Him:

²⁹ “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you ^(F)of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. ³⁰ Therefore, being a prophet, ^(G)and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, ^[d]according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, ³¹ he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, ^(H)that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. ^32 (I)This Jesus God has raised up, ^(J)of which we are all witnesses. ³³ Therefore ^(K)being exalted ^[e]to ^(L)the right hand of God, and ^(M)having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He ^(N)poured out this which you now see and hear.

³⁴ “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:

³⁶ “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
