⁹ if we are ^[a]on trial today for ^(A)a benefit done to a sick man, as to ^[b]how this man has been made well, ¹⁰ let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that ^[c](B)by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom ^(C)God raised from the dead—^[d]by ^[e]this name this man stands here before you in good health. ^11 [f](D)He is the ^(E)stone which was ^(F)rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone. ¹² And there is salvation in ^(G)no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.”

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “^(A)Do not let your heart be troubled; ^[a]believe in God, believe also in Me. ² In My Father’s house are many ^[b]rooms; if that were not so, ^[c]I would have told you, because ^(B)I am going there to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, ^(C)I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that ^(D)where I am, there you also will be. ⁴ And you know the way where I am going.” ^5 (E)Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?” ⁶ Jesus *said to him, “I am ^(F)the way, and ^(G)the truth, and ^(H)the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.

^3 [a]And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact ^(A)representation of His nature, and ^[b](B)upholds all things by ^[c]the word of His power. When He had made ^(C)purification of sins, He ^(D)sat down at the right hand of the ^(E)Majesty on high,

1 ^(A)In the beginning was ^(B)the Word, and the Word was ^(C)with God, and ^(D)the Word was God. ^2 [a]He was in the beginning with God. ^3 (E)All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him ^[b]not even one thing came into being that has come into being. ^4 (F)In Him was life, and the life was ^(G)the Light of mankind.

The Word Made Flesh

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Word ^(B)became flesh, and ^(C)dwelt among us; and ^(D)we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of ^(E)grace and ^(F)truth.

¹⁷ Therefore, in all things He ^[a]had ^(A)to be made like His brothers so that He might ^(B)become a merciful and faithful ^(C)high priest in ^(D)things pertaining to God, to ^(E)make ^[b]propitiation for the sins of the people. ¹⁸ For since He Himself was ^[c](F)tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are ^[d]tempted.

^3 (A)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in ^(B)the heavenly places in Christ, ⁴ just as ^(C)He chose us in Him before ^(D)the foundation of the world, that we would be ^(E)holy and blameless before ^[a]Him. ^(F)In love ^5 [b]He ^(G)predestined us to ^(H)adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, ^(I)according to the good pleasure of His will, ^6 (J)to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in ^(K)the Beloved. ^7 (L)In ^[c]Him we have ^(M)redemption ^(N)through His blood, the ^(O)forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to ^(P)the riches of His grace ⁸ which He ^[d]lavished on ^[e]us. In all wisdom and insight ⁹ He ^[f](Q)made known to us the mystery of His will, ^(R)according to His good pleasure which He ^(S)set forth in Him, ¹⁰ regarding His plan of ^(T)the fullness of the times, ^(U)to bring all things together in Christ, things ^[g]in the heavens and things on the earth. ^11 [h]In Him we also ^(V)have obtained an inheritance, having been ^(W)predestined ^(X)according to the purpose of Him who works all things ^(Y)in accordance with the plan of His will, ¹² to the end that ^[i]we who were the first to hope in the ^[j]Christ would be ^(Z)to the praise of His glory. ¹³ In ^[k]Him, ^[l]you also, after listening to ^(AA)the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also ^[m]believed, you were ^(AB)sealed in ^[n]Him with ^(AC)the Holy Spirit of the promise,

⁶ For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work ^[a]among you will complete it ^[b]by ^(A)the day of Christ Jesus.

²⁸ and in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a ^(A)sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and this too, from God.
