⁹ if we are being questioned today because of a good deed done to someone who was sick and are being asked how this man has been healed,^[a]

¹⁵ but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you,^{(A) 16} yet do it with gentleness and respect. Maintain a good conscience so that, when you are maligned,^[a] those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame.^{(B) 17} For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God’s will, than to suffer for doing evil.

⁷ And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

³² Jesus replied, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these are you going to stone me?”

¹⁴ If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory,^[a] which is the Spirit of God,^[b] is resting on you.^[c](A)

²³ If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath in order that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because I healed a man’s whole body on the Sabbath?^(A)
