^11 (A)This Jesus^[a] is the stone that was ^(B)rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.^[b]

^10 (A)Have you not read ^(B)this Scripture:

¹² And ^(D)they were seeking to arrest him ^(E)but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they ^(F)left him and went away.

⁴² Jesus said to them, ^(A)“Have you never read in the Scriptures:

⁴³ Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God ^(C)will be taken away from you and given to a people ^(D)producing its fruits. ⁴⁴ And ^(E)the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and ^(F)when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.”^[b]

⁴⁵ When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them.

⁶ For it stands in Scripture:

⁷ So the honor is for you who ^(C)believe, but for those who ^(D)do not believe,

⁸ and

They stumble because they disobey the word, ^(G)as they were destined to do.

⁶ Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to ^(A)Zerubbabel: ^(B)Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. ⁷ Who are you, ^(C)O great mountain? Before ^(D)Zerubbabel ^(E)you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward ^(F)the top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”

^20 (A)built on the foundation of the ^(B)apostles and prophets, ^(C)Christ Jesus himself being ^(D)the cornerstone, ^21 (E)in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into ^(F)a holy temple in the Lord. ²² In him ^(G)you also are being built together ^(H)into a dwelling place for God by^[a] the Spirit.

^16 (A)He will ^(B)come and destroy those tenants and ^(C)give the vineyard to others.” When they heard this, they said, “Surely not!” ¹⁷ But he ^(D)looked directly at them and said, “What then is this that is written:

^18 (F)Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and when it falls ^(G)on anyone, it will crush him.”
