²³ And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet ^(A)shall be destroyed from the people.’

^19 (A)And whoever will ^(B)not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

¹⁵ And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, ^(A)he was thrown into the lake of fire.

^28 (A)Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy ^(B)on the evidence of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one ^(C)who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned ^(D)the blood of the covenant ^(E)by which he was sanctified, and has ^(F)outraged the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him who said, ^(G)“Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, ^(H)“The Lord will judge his people.”

^48 (A)The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; ^(B)the word that I have spoken will judge him ^(C)on the last day.

⁸ and all ^(A)who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in ^(B)the book of life of ^(C)the Lamb ^(D)who was slain.

²⁵ See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For ^(A)if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.

³⁹ But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

^3 (A)how shall we escape if we ^(B)neglect such a great salvation? It was ^(C)declared at first by the Lord, and it was ^(D)attested to us ^(E)by those who heard,

⁷ and to grant ^(A)relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when ^(B)the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven ^(C)with his mighty angels ^8 (D)in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those ^(E)who do not know God and on those who ^(F)do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. ⁹ They will suffer the punishment of ^(G)eternal destruction, ^(H)away from^[a] the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
