¹⁰ Then they knew that it was he who ^(A)sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

² And ^(A)a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, ^(B)to ^[a]ask alms from those who entered the temple;

³ Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, ^(A)but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

²⁰ For ^(A)the Father loves the Son, and ^(B)shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

Jesus Again Predicts His Death^(A)

⁴³ And they were all amazed at the majesty of God.

But while everyone marveled at all the things which Jesus did, He said to His disciples,

²¹ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, ^(A)because of the people, since they all ^(B)glorified God for ^(C)what had been done. ²² For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.

¹⁴ And seeing the man who had been healed ^(A)standing with them, they could say nothing against it. ¹⁵ But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, ¹⁶ saying, ^(B)“What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a ^[a]notable miracle has been done through them is ^(C)evident^[b] to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

¹² So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”

⁷ Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak ^(A)Galileans?

¹⁸ But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight. ¹⁹ And they asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”

²⁰ His parents answered them and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; ²¹ but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself.”
