Good News Translation
8 Publius' father was in bed, sick with fever and dysentery. Paul went into his room, prayed, placed his hands on him, and healed him. 9 When this happened, all the other sick people on the island came and were healed. 10 They gave us many gifts, and when we sailed, they put on board what we needed for the voyage.

New International Version
8 His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer,(A) placed his hands on him(B) and healed him.(C) 9 When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured. 10 They honored us(D) in many ways; and when we were ready to sail, they furnished us with the supplies we needed.
