⁸ It happened that the father of Publius lay sick with fever and dysentery. And Paul visited him and ^(A)prayed, and ^(B)putting his hands on him, healed him.

⁴⁰ But Peter ^(A)put them all outside, and ^(B)knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body ^(C)he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

⁵ And ^(A)he could do no mighty work there, except that ^(B)he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them.

¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, ^(A)anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And ^(B)if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. ¹⁶ Therefore, ^(C)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, ^(D)that you may be healed. ^(E)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.^[a]

^18 (A)they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; ^(B)they will lay their hands ^(C)on the sick, and they will recover.”

A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed

^18 (A)While he was saying these things to them, behold, a ruler came in and ^(B)knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”

²⁸ And ^(A)God has appointed in the church first ^(B)apostles, second ^(C)prophets, third teachers, then ^(D)miracles, then ^(E)gifts of healing, ^(F)helping, ^(G)administrating, and ^(H)various kinds of tongues.

¹¹ And ^(A)God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, ^12 (B)so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and ^(C)the evil spirits came out of them.
