⁶ However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and ^(A)said that he was a god.

²² And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!”

¹¹ Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, ^(A)“The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” ¹² And Barnabas they called ^[a]Zeus, and Paul, ^[b]Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. ¹³ Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, ^(B)intending to sacrifice with the multitudes.

⁹ Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

²² Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”

They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
