Acts 28:23-31

²³When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening ^(A)he expounded to them, testifying to ^(B)the kingdom of God and ^(C)trying to convince them about Jesus ^(D)both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets. ²⁴And ^(E)some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved. ²⁵And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: ^(F)“The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:

²⁶^(G)“‘Go to this people, and say,
^(H)“You will indeed hear but never understand,
    and you will indeed see but never perceive.”
²⁷^(I)For this people's heart has grown dull,
    and with their ears they can barely hear,
    and their eyes they have closed;
lest they should see with their eyes
    and hear with their ears
and understand with their heart
    and ^(J)turn, and I would heal them.’

²⁸Therefore let it be known to you that ^(K)this ^(L)salvation of God ^(M)has been sent to the Gentiles; ^(N)they will listen.”^[a]

³⁰He lived there two whole years at his own expense,^[b] and ^(O)welcomed all who came to him, ³¹^(P)proclaiming ^(Q)the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ ^(R)with all boldness and ^(S)without hindrance.

¹⁰Bloodthirsty men ^(A)hate one who is blameless
    and seek the life of the upright.^[a]
¹¹A fool gives full vent to his spirit,
    but a wise man quietly holds it back.
¹²If a ruler listens to falsehood,
    all his officials will be wicked.
¹³The poor man and the oppressor ^(B)meet together;
    the Lord ^(C)gives light to the eyes of both.
¹⁴If a king ^(D)faithfully judges the poor,
    his throne will ^(E)be established forever.
¹⁵^(F)The rod and reproof give wisdom,
    but a child left to himself ^(G)brings shame to his mother.
¹⁶When the wicked increase, transgression increases,
    but ^(H)the righteous will look upon their downfall.
¹⁷^(I)Discipline your son, and he will give you rest;
    he will give delight to your heart.
¹⁸Where ^(J)there is no prophetic vision the people ^(K)cast off restraint,^[b]
    but blessed is he who ^(L)keeps the law.
