Paul Arrives at Rome

¹¹ After three months we set sail in ^(A)a ship that had wintered in the island, a ship of Alexandria, with the twin gods^[a] as a figurehead.

⁶ There the centurion found ^(A)a ship of Alexandria sailing for Italy and put us on board.

⁴ Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that ^(A)“an idol has no real existence,” and that ^(B)“there is no God but one.”

⁹ Then some of those who belonged to the synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called), and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and disputed with Stephen.

¹⁶ Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, ^(A)and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord ^(B)and made vows.

⁵ Then the mariners were afraid, and ^(A)each cried out to his god. And ^(B)they hurled the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep.
