²⁵ So keep up your courage,^(A) men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.^(B)

²⁰ Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened^(A) in his faith and gave glory to God,^{(B) 21} being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.^(C)

⁴⁵ Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

¹² That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame,^(A) because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard^(B) what I have entrusted to him until that day.^(C)

²⁰ Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith^(A) in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.^(B)”

²¹ After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice^(A) not to sail from Crete;^(B) then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss. ²² But now I urge you to keep up your courage,^(C) because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.

¹¹ But the centurion, instead of listening to what Paul said, followed the advice of the pilot and of the owner of the ship.

³⁶ They were all encouraged^(A) and ate some food themselves.
