Agrippa Parries Paul’s Challenge

²⁴ Now as he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, ^(A)you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!”

¹³ These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the ^[a]Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. ^14 (A)But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

²³ but we preach Christ crucified, ^(A)to the Jews a ^[a]stumbling block and to the ^[b]Greeks ^(B)foolishness,

¹³ For ^(A)if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

¹⁰ We are ^(A)fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! ^(B)We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!

²¹ But when His ^(A)own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, ^(B)for they said, “He is out of His mind.”

^11 (A)And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

¹¹ Then Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did ^(A)this madman come to you?”

And he said to them, “You know the man and his babble.”

³² And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.”
