²⁷ But after two years Porcius Festus succeeded Felix; and Felix, ^(A)wanting to do the Jews a favor, left Paul bound.

⁹ But Festus, ^(A)wanting to do the Jews a favor, answered Paul and said, ^(B)“Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and there be judged before me concerning these things?”

¹⁴ When they had been there many days, Festus laid Paul’s case before the king, saying: ^(A)“There is a certain man left a prisoner by Felix,

³ And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during ^(A)the Days of Unleavened Bread.

Paul Appeals to Caesar

25 Now when Festus had come to the province, after three days he went up from ^(A)Caesarea to Jerusalem.

^15 (A)So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be ^(B)crucified.

¹⁰ For ^(A)do I now ^(B)persuade men, or God? Or ^(C)do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

³² Then Agrippa said to Festus, “This man might have been set ^(A)free ^(B)if he had not appealed to Caesar.”

³⁰ Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him,
