Accused of Sedition

24 Now after ^(A)five days ^(B)Ananias the high priest came down with the elders and a certain orator named Tertullus. These gave evidence to the governor against Paul.

² And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him ^(A)to strike him on the mouth.

^2 (A)Then the ^[a]high priest and the chief men of the Jews informed him against Paul; and they petitioned him,

¹¹ because you may ascertain that it is no more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem ^(A)to worship.

³⁵ he said, ^(A)“I will hear you when your accusers also have come.” And he commanded him to be kept in ^(B)Herod’s ^[a]Praetorium.

²⁴ and provide mounts to set Paul on, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.”

²⁷ Now when the seven days were almost ended, ^(A)the Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and ^(B)laid hands on him,

⁴ And my speech and my preaching ^(A)were not with persuasive words of ^[a]human wisdom, ^(B)but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the ^[a]testimony of God.
