When we had finished the voyage from (A)Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and after greeting (B)the brothers and sisters, we stayed with them for a day. On the next day we left and came to (C)Caesarea, and we entered the house of (D)Philip the (E)evangelist, who was (F)one of the seven, and stayed with him. Now this man had four virgin daughters who were (G)prophetesses. 10 As we were staying there for some days, a prophet named (H)Agabus came down from Judea. 11 And he came to us and (I)took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands, and said, “This (J)is what the Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will (K)bind the man who owns this belt and (L)hand him over to the Gentiles.’” 12 When we had heard this, we as well as the local residents began begging him (M)not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul replied, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? On the next day we [a]who were Paul’s companions departed and came to (A)Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip (B)the evangelist, (C)who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. Now this man had four virgin daughters (D)who prophesied. 10 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named (E)Agabus came down from Judea. 11 When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, (F)‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”

12 Now when we heard these things, both we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, (G)“What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

14 So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, (H)“The will of the Lord be done.”
