7 And when we had finished the voyage from (A)Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and after greeting (B)the brothers, we stayed with them for a day. 8 And on the next day we left and came to (C)Caesarea, and entering the house of (D)Philip the (E)evangelist, who was (F)one of the seven, we stayed with him. 9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who (G)prophesied. 10 And as we were staying there for some days, a prophet named (H)Agabus came down from Judea. 11 And coming to us, he (I)took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands, and said, “This (J)is what the Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews at Jerusalem will (K)bind the man who owns this belt and (L)deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” 12 And when we had heard this, we as well as the local residents began begging him (M)not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, crying and breaking my heart? For (N)I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for (O)the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14 And since he would not be persuaded, we fell silent, saying, “(P)The will of the Lord be done!”

7 When we had finished[a] the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and we greeted the brothers and sisters and stayed with them for one day.(A) 8 The next day we left and came to Caesarea, and we went into the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the seven, and stayed with him.(B) 9 He had four unmarried daughters[b] who had the gift of prophecy.(C) 10 While we were staying there for several days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11 He came to us and took Paul’s belt, bound his own feet and hands with it, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is the way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and will hand him over to the gentiles.’ ”(D) 12 When we heard this, we and the people there urged him not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”(E) 14 Since he would not be persuaded, we remained silent except to say, “The Lord’s will be done.”(F)
