21 Now it came to pass, that when we had departed from them and set sail, running a straight course we came to Cos, the following day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.

Longing to See Them

¹⁷ But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time ^(A)in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire.

⁴ When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ^(A)“Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

⁴ When we had put to sea from there, we sailed under the shelter of Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

² So, entering a ship of Adramyttium, we put to sea, meaning to sail along the coasts of Asia. ^(A)Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, was with us.

³⁷ Then they all ^(A)wept ^[a]freely, and ^(B)fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him, ³⁸ sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

¹⁰ Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go ^(A)to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

And they kissed one another; and they wept together, but David more so. ⁴² Then Jonathan said to David, ^(A)“Go in peace, since we have both sworn in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘May the Lord be between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants, forever.’ ” So he arose and departed, and Jonathan went into the city.
