Paul Goes to Jerusalem

21 And when ^(A)we had parted from them and set sail, we ^(B)came by a straight course to Cos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.^[a]

Paul's Longing to See Them Again

¹⁷ But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, ^(A)in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire ^(B)to see you face to face,

⁴ And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ^(A)“Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

⁴ And putting out to sea from there we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the winds were against us.

² And embarking in a ship of Adramyttium, which was about to sail to the ports along the coast of Asia, we put to sea, accompanied by ^(A)Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica.

³⁷ And ^(A)there was much weeping on the part of all; ^(B)they embraced Paul and ^(C)kissed him, ³⁸ being sorrowful most of all because of ^(D)the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And ^(E)they accompanied him to the ship.

¹⁰ And when Paul^[a] had seen the vision, immediately ^(A)we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

¹¹ So, setting sail from Troas, we ^(B)made a direct voyage to Samothrace, and the following day to Neapolis,

Jesus Calms a Storm

^22 (A)One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of ^(B)the lake.” So they set out,

⁴¹ And as soon as the boy had gone, David rose from beside the stone heap^[a] and fell on his face to the ground and bowed three times. And they kissed one another and wept with one another, David weeping the most. ⁴² Then Jonathan said to David, ^(A)“Go in peace, because we have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord, saying, ^(B)‘The Lord shall be between me and you, ^(C)and between my offspring and your offspring, forever.’” And he rose and departed, and Jonathan went into the city.^[b]
