²⁴ But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course^[a] and the ministry^(A) I received from the Lord Jesus,^(B) to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.

⁹ For I think God has displayed us, the apostles, in last place, like men condemned to die: We have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to people.

³⁰ Why are we in danger every hour? ³¹ I face death every day,^(A) as surely as I may boast about you, brothers and sisters, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁹ Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God^(A) who raises^(B) the dead.

⁹ as unknown, yet recognized; as dying, yet see—we live; as being disciplined, yet not killed;

²³ Are they servants of Christ? I’m talking like a madman—I’m a better one: with far more labors, many more imprisonments, far worse beatings, many times near death.
