² When he had gone through those regions and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece.

A Life Pleasing to God

4 Finally, then, brothers,^[a] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you ^(A)received from us ^(B)how you ought to walk and ^(C)to please God, just as you are doing, that you ^(D)do so more and more.

¹¹ For you know how, ^(A)like a father with his children,

³ For ^(A)our appeal does not spring from ^(B)error or ^(C)impurity or ^(D)any attempt to deceive,

²⁸ Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that ^(A)we may present everyone ^(B)mature in Christ.

¹¹ And when Paul had gone up and ^(A)had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long while, until daybreak, and so departed.

⁶ but we sailed away from Philippi after ^(A)the days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days we came to them at Troas, where we stayed for seven days.

^7 (B)On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together ^(C)to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and he prolonged his speech until midnight.

17 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to ^(A)Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.

¹² and from there to ^(A)Philippi, which is a leading city of the^[a] district of Macedonia and ^(B)a Roman colony. We remained in this city some days.
